Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
Did you like our pyjamas video today? We took inspiration from Mrs Owen who has asked Reception class to take part in The Book Trust’s opportunity to read in pyjamas, so we all thought this would make you smile! The staff are constantly thinking of ways in which to engage children and keep you all entertained..it’s all making us laugh too!
It was a pleasure to talk or to email families again this week. This is proving an effective way of keeping in touch and letting you know we are still here to help and keep a personal involvement with you all. Thank you for being so open and asking for help too. I know that takes courage and all your discussions are confidential. I am glad to be able to help you in whatever way I can.
I have taken part in many discussions with other Headteachers and advisers this week as we all try and get our heads around what ‘school’ may look like when lockdown is over. As yet we have not received any further advice in which to share with you but we will endeavour to keep you all informed.
We had a great suggestion for the whole of Congleton to take part in a Superheroes Day (tbc) for all children and staff tasked with taking a picture of themselves to send to school so we can publish this in the Congleton Chronicle. Parents are also welcome to join us! I will send more information about this once the date has been confirmed but just wanted to give you an early heads up in case you want to start thinking about costumes (home made ones are always the best aren’t they?).
Have a lovely weekend, Nevin
