Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
Dear Parents and Carers
We hope you have all enjoyed half term and managed to rest. The weather has just been glorious and that has been some comfort during this time.
I had the pleasure of joining the virtual Worship last week for a very special service to wish Rev Naylor Good luck and Good bye as she becomes Vicar of Astbury and Smallwood. It was also wonderful to see so many school faces and families and I hope to join you all each week.
Much preparation has taken place ready to ‘open up school’ from Monday. To confirm the details once again:
From Monday 1st June – Key worker children return to school. Children will be located in the hall.
From Monday 15th June – Reception children return to school. Children will be located in Year 1 and 2 classrooms
From Monday 22nd June – Year 1 children return to school. Children will be located in Year 4 classroom
From Monday 29th June – Year 6 children return to school. Children will be located in Year 3 and 5 classrooms
Infant children or children eligible for Free school meals will have a choice of packed lunches. These choices are available on parent pay. If you would prefer to send your own packed lunch into school this must be in a disposable bag. Water bottles can be refilled and snacks can be brought in from home.
Outside the main entrance each week, will be a list of names (alphabetical order) to inform you which classroom/bubble your child will be in for the duration of their time till we finish in July. It is therefore likely they will not be with their friends and we would ask you explain this to your children.
Each group/bubble will have a member of staff who will work with them for part of a week and then change for the remainder of the week. This is on a rota basis and may change due to staff circumstances.
Please remember that each group/bubble will be kept apart from other groups and this will include playtimes and lunchtimes. We politely ask parents/adults to wait outside school and to not enter the building with your children as we need to encourage social distancing as much as possible.
Children are to wear their own clean clothes daily but these should be suitable for any outdoor activities too. Book bags are not to be brought into school.
Parents are encouraged to use the flexibility of arriving at school between 9 - 9.30pm and collect children from 3 - 3.30pm. A separate message will be sent this morning regarding school transport.
Please can I reiterate again that we will respect and support any decision you make in choosing to send your children to school or to keep them safe at home. As a parent, I too have had to make this decision and I know its not an easy one to make.
With best wishes, Nevin
