Staffing Information for Parents and Carers6 June 2020 (by headmarton) |
For September 2020
It seems very strange to be writing to you about September whilst school is closed but I know you will be looking ahead with your children and want to reassure them about their class teachers.
I am delighted that our current staffing structure will remain the same for the next school year and we will not be losing anyone from our team. It’s a great privilege to work alongside such dedicated staff who share a vision to want the very best for all our children and families and this has been evident during lockdown when the staff have been nothing short of exceptional!
To confirm the Staffing for September will be:
- Mrs Owen will have responsibility for our Reception children
- Miss Copestick will have responsibility for Year 1 children
- Mrs Field (our Deputy Headteacher) will have responsibility for Year 2 children.
- Mrs Sparey will have responsibility for Year 3 children.
- Mr Marks will have responsibility for Year 4 children.
- Miss Byron will have responsibility for Year 5 children.
- Mrs Wilson (our school SENCo) will have responsibility for Year 6 children.
All members of staff continue to have curriculum responsibilities and seek ways in which to engage with all children across school, this is via after school clubs, assemblies and initiatives that they introduce. We feel this is a real strength and supports your children. Mr Marks for instance leads ‘Forest Friday’ afternoons for Key stage 1 children and this will hopefully continue next academic year.
We do recognise though that sometimes moving into a new classroom with a new teacher can be daunting for children and so we want to offer you reassurances that staff will continue to find ways and opportunities in which to support children particularly as we cannot conduct our annual ‘Move Up Morning’ as this is something we all look forward to.
Our teaching assistants will continue to be deployed effectively to support our pupils and to support any children with additional needs. This is reviewed termly with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Management Governors.
We have begun to look for another PE provider to support our PE provision and PPA times and we hope to be able to share details with you soon regarding this.
All class teachers are currently planning something very special for your children (it may be a virtual tour, photos, videos, fact finding, practical tasks) that you will be able to see on Seesaw so you can begin to familiarise yourselves before we return. These will go live on Monday 6th July – so do watch out for them too!
As yet we have not received any further information about school fully opening or what social distancing measures we may need to adopt so we will continue to update you as soon as we can.
We will not however be conducting ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening in September and instead, intend to record a video of each staff member with all the useful information you will need for the year ahead.
This time of year I normally begin to prepare our annual Overview of the school year but I have been unable to do this as the way we ‘meet’ for social events is likely to change. We will however adopt new ways in which to engage with you and I look forward to sharing this information with you all soon.
With thanks for your continued support and understanding
Best Wishes
Nevin J Deakin
