Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
This has been a week of changing information for us all and I am delighted to be thinking ahead for September and welcoming everybody back to school! As we receive information we will share this with you but you will have read this morning about our boiler replacement work over the summer holidays (which we are very excited about)!
Year 1 children returned to school this week and it’s been a delight to see them. Next week we will welcome Year 6 back and Mrs Wilson has added this information on Seesaw for you all. Please can we remind you all that children need sun cream, sunhats and water bottles with them every day. Key Worker children will need to wear old clothes on Monday too please.
It’s a pleasure to see all the Seesaw posts for children at home, we are missing you and the wonderful summer activities we have at Marton but… We would like you to SAVE THE DATE for Tuesday 1st September for a Family Afternoon Picnic so we can see you before school starts!
This is an INSET day when school is normally closed for children as staff prepare work and their classrooms but this year we want to dedicate this time to welcome our school family back; create a chance to chat to each other and staff and for many children; provide an opportunity to ‘return to school’ without feeling too anxious after being at home since March! It also means we can all return the day after on Wednesday 2nd and officially start ‘Back to School!’
We’d really like to welcome our new Marton families and invite our Year 6 Children and their parents to be together one last time before we wish them continued success at their High Schools!
On Tuesday 1st Sept, please bring picnics, rugs, chairs (and maybe brollies) and join us on the school field from 1pm. Our new PE provider will be here to play some family games with you all, Footprints will be here to discuss any nursery and pre-school enquiries you may have and our new Wrap Around Care Staff will be here too! (Further information about our new PE provider and Wrap around Care will be announced next week.)
Something special to look forward.
With best wishes for the weekend, Nevin
