Dear KS1 parents,

Your child will be bringing home two reading tonight. We are no longer following the coloured book bands for reading books. As a school we are working to re-band all books into phases which are linked to what we are learning in phonics. One reading book will be closely linked to your child's ability to decode using phonics so please do not worry and think that your child has been moved back a book band. They should be able to read this book fluently more than once to become familiar with it.The other book will be a reading for fun book which can be read during shared reading time at home. We will change the books once a week. Please also feel free to read other things at home with your child.
