Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
Well this has been a very interesting week at school!
I would like to thank you all for your support yesterday when we had to close school as we had no water. Closing school is something we are always very reluctant to do, having no water however is an immediate school closure (particularly since we are all being extra vigilant about cleanliness and hygiene) as this means no hand washing or use of toilets.
We find our School Jotter app is critical when sharing information with you all and we thank you for responding so quickly to our messages. I always feel incredibly guilty for the number of alerts/messages we send you – but we always want to keep you as informed as much as we can!
Once again we will be collecting essential items for the Storehouse at New Life Church, please do send your generous donations in from Monday to Wednesday morning. A full shopping list was added to the app last Friday, thank you in advance for being so kind.
If you haven’t yet signed up for the school lottery, please do! Search School lottery and type in Marton. For only £1.00 a week you could be in with a chance to win and as a bonus; profits are sent back to school via Friends and Family.
This week we have been discussing the big ‘C word’ … not Covid but Christmas and I am pleased to tell you that we do still want some December traditions to go ahead and have been busy planning: Christmas lunch, Children’s parties and the ever popular Christmas Shop. We will once again be taking part in East Cheshire Hospice’s annual fundraiser, this year it will be a Reindeer Run which will take place at school on Friday 11th December, further details will be sent nearer the time.
I know we are all anticipating further lockdown news but rest assured we will continue to keep you all updated with latest guidance and advice!
