Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
This week we have been supporting our school families by asking for your support in NOT parking within the school grounds unless you have a disability badge or exceptional circumstance and we are grateful for your support in this matter.
As a caring school we want to support our pupils and families in whatever way we can, this may mean helping you buy items for children or buying school uniform or extra snacks for children and we allocate Pupil Premium funds in order to do this. We know these are challenging times for families so please if you need our help contact me directly and confidentially on head@marton.cheshire.sch.uk.
Returning to school after lockdown has meant many children have forgotten how to play and interact with each other and we have been offering further support and managing playtimes in a much more effective way. As a result, on Wednesday we will be having a ‘Play Day’ and encouraging our children to play outside games, skipping ropes, giant Connect 4 etc. with class teachers and staff and we are all looking forward to this. This is a normal school day and uniform needs to be worn.
We will also be taking the children out to play daily regardless of light rain as it’s extremely important that children are getting some fresh air throughout the day after being in their bubble/classrooms all day so please do send coats in each day!
Year 6 will be taking part in Bikeability sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday and information about these days have been added on to the app today.
We are beginning to get very excited about Reception 2021, if you know of anyone who has a pre-school child or sibling please do encourage them to visit us at school to look around or view our website. We can support social distancing but do want to encourage parents and little people to look around school and see how wonderful we are! All applications for Reception need to be made via Cheshire East online by 15th January 2021.
Next Friday we will hold our Monthly Parent Surgery and we NEED YOUR HELP! This is because at this meeting we need to discuss the proposed Relationship and Sex Education Policy and your involvement is essential. Some staff and school governors will also be joining this Zoom meeting and I have therefore arranged this meeting for Friday 23rd October at 9.15am to give parents chance to drop off at school and join us virtually from home.
