Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
Today has been a very emotional day as we have celebrated Mrs Bedford’s (Saaaandra) last day and presented her with lots of lovely thank you gifts and cards. It is always sad when we lose a member of staff but Sandra is pretty special and not only is she a friend to everyone at school, she has been the first point of contact for families and friends of the school and we will all miss her! We hope she now enjoys this family time with Andy, Emma and Michelle. Together as a family, they have supported our school and we wish them all much love. We are hoping Sandra will come back and visit us all for the many special events we have at school (here’s hoping restrictions are lifted soon). Sandra has presented the school with a beautiful wooden carving of an acorn on top of a bug house and it's stunning! Thank you Sandra for being such a special friend to Team Marton!
We hope you have all received your child’s end of term report via Seesaw and look forward to meeting you all for Parents evening next week. Appointment times have been returned with your children but if you are unable to make this time please let us know and we will rearrange.
Today was the launch of our Friday Mountains and we thank you for all the bottle donations you sent into school. Friends and Family really support school and we are so grateful for their help. Last week’s F & F Family Quiz was awesome and we will be hosting a Christmas quiz before the end of term. We are all excited about launching Birthday Club next week too. We have our next F & F meeting on Tuesday 24th November @ 8pm (Zoom details are below) so do join us if you can.
Raffle tickets have been sent home with your children and will also be on sale at the end of the day with some year 6 students, please help if you can!
Our school council have done an amazing job of promoting Road safety this week, led by Mrs Owen. The children have been so thorough in their delivery and support and have been great ambassadors for school.
This week Rev Arch launched Virtual Worship from beautiful Siddington Church and it was wonderful! All the children and staff were really enthused by this and we thank Rev Arch and Mr Webborn for being so creative. There are many positive things that have happened as a result of Lockdown2 (I’m a firm believer in making the best of everything) and this is a clear example of how we can ensure our children continue to have such super experiences at school….watch this space for news about Christmas!
Please don’t forget to join us all for Part 2 of our RSE parent surgery next Friday. We need to start this meeting at 9am as we need to finish for 9.45am. Zoom details are below.
