Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
What a great end to a very busy term!
We began the day with our very own Key Stage Outdoor Nativities and everyone performed so well; this was great fun and enjoyed by all. Massive thanks to Rev Arch for leading this and supporting us all. We also had the pleasure of a special Open The Book Zoom Worship this week and each child received a beautiful l Nativity Rhyme book from the Bible Society.
Yesterday we held our Celebration Assembly via Zoom and announced the GREEN Team as the winner of the House Team points this term. All children from this House Team enjoyed Hot chocolate with Mrs Field as a special treat!
Each class had their Christmas party this week, playing party games and eating party food. Many thanks to F & F for funding these parties and to the staff for planning these too.
Your children have adapted so well to the new changes we implemented in September to adhere to Covid regulations and as a staff we couldn’t be more prouder of everyone’s efforts and hard work. The holidays are a much needed time to recharge and spend time together and enjoy being at home!
Our new partnerships at school; Mad House, Footprints and ASM have not only been wonderful additions to our team; they have enhanced the provision we offer at school and we are grateful for such positive and supportive relationships. We re-join a further partnership from January be re-joining the Congleton Education Community partnership (known as CeCP) which will see us access services with all the local primary schools and both High Schools. From January I will also be supporting some local Head teachers as a mentor and see this as a further strength to Marton.
Whilst school is closed we will still access emails although I am encouraging the staff to have a break! If you need to keep us informed of anything or wish to alert me regarding Positive Covid cases please email me direct on head@marton.cheshire.sch.uk
Children will return to school on Tuesday 5th January to a special ‘Circus Skills Day’ as part of ASM’s PE contract at school and we think this is the perfect way to start the new year! Further information will be added to the school jotter before we return in January.
May I thank you for supporting us all this term; for your lovely messages, emails, letters, cards and gifts and for trusting us. At the end of our school prayer we talk about ‘many hands build a house, so many hearts make a school’ and this remains true today and always.
I wish you and your families much joy for the holidays and an even greater 2021.
Your friend, Nevin
