    From United Utilities -   update on our works at Gawsworth WwTW

     We do understand that this is a really challenging and uncertain time for everyone right now.

     Our teams are safely continuing to carry out maintenance or improvements on our water and sewer networks, so that we can continue to keep taps flowing and toilets flushing for our customers across the North West. We’re following social distancing guidance while we work, if you do see our teams, please can we ask that you maintain a safe distance to make sure that you and our colleagues stay safe.

     We previously wrote to you regarding our works at the Gawsworth WwTW and how our road closure had to be delayed due to not yet receiving our planning permission for the works. We have now received our planning permission so we can now plan our works starting on site.

     What will our work involve?

     Our road closure will now commence on Marton lane from 4 January 2021 for 2 weeks.

    • This closure will be on daily between the hours of 9am and 5pm, outside of these hours the road will be open.
    • We will be setting up a compound in the field next to the site, we will be creating a new temporary access into this from Marton Lane.
    • We will be reducing the speed limit of Marton Lane to 30mph in the proximity of our works, for the safety of road users whilst we are on site.

    How will this affect you?

     You will see us doing some preparation works to create the access and set up the compound in the field next to the site.

    • Marton Lane will be closed to the East of the Harbour Lane junction from 4 January 2021 for two weeks while we create the temporary access to our compound between the times stated above.
    • You may see an increase in construction traffic accessing site
    • There may be an increase in noise, although our site team will do all they can to keep this to a minimum.
    • Our working hours will be 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on a Saturday, if we need to work outside of these hours, we will let you know in advance.    Priority Services – extra help for those who need it most
    • If you or any of your family and friends have particular health issues and haven’t yet registered for Priority Services, then please visit unitedutilities.com/priorityservices so we can be aware of your needs and do our best to support you in terms of your water services. If you know someone who isn’t online then you can register them on their behalf.
