    Remote Learning Information

    21 January 2021 (by headmarton)

A message for Parents and Carers

Thank you all for supporting school and your children’s remote learning. We know how challenging this is and we are always here to help and take on board your thoughts and suggestions. As a staff we are forward thinking and we are all discovering new ways in which to engage children and to support you at home. Remote Learning is certainly not fixed and we are constantly revising this.

What works for one year group and class does not work for another and this is dependent on children’s ages and abilities. You will now begin to see staff starting to interact with live lessons or pre-recorded lessons too (to especially support parents who need to work during the day) together with seesaw activities and work packs. Staff will use their professional judgement when planning remote learning and together as a staff team we discuss this every week.

We would always encourage you to allow your children to work independently, this is particularly important as children will need to work independently when they return to school. It’s tempting as a parent to stand next to them and ‘correct’ them but actually this is unhelpful and will not help children when they are assessed as we return to school.

To confirm, our remote learning consists of:

    Zoom lessons and meetings

    Pre-recorded videos and voice overs

    Seesaw activities

    White Rose Maths

    Guided reading (where possible)

    ASM PE lessons

    Love Music Trust activities

Times table rock stars KS2 and Numbots KS1

Work packs and books (a separate message will be posted shortly about new work packs)

Plus anything your child’s teacher feels appropriate

    With best wishes,

    Nevin Deakin
