World Book Day Info
World Book Day is on 4th March, so this year we will be celebrating the event virtually! There are lots of ways we can still celebrate reading whilst at home and we still would like to make this as exciting and enjoyable as possible for our Marton family. Look out for our book token email soon too - these will be digital this year.
We are inviting all children to take part in our “Book in a Box” competition. To take part, you will need an empty box, such as a cereal or shoe box. You should choose your favourite book and decorate the box inside and out to represent parts of the story. We encourage you to be as creative as you can.
To do this, you might like to:
- Draw or cut out pictures of the characters
- Create a scene of the book
- Include quotes from the story
Class teachers will set up a "Book in a Box" activity on Seesaw, for you to respond to with your entry. Entries must be posted on Seesaw on or before Wednesday 3rd March. During a special World Book Day zoom assembly, a winner from each class will be announced. These children will receive a book voucher for their creative efforts.
If you wish to take part, you now have lots of time to prepare - including half term! Please see the attached pictures for “Book in a Box” inspiration!
