Dear Parents and Carers

I am writing to you with some very exciting news from April 2021!

It is no secret how supportive the staff and governors are of our wonderful school and how we strive to make a difference for your children daily in forward thinking and innovative ways; Marton school is currently in a real position of strength both in terms of outcomes for pupils and strong leadership. You will know that I have been supporting a number of Headteachers and schools and greatly enjoy this rewarding experience.

As a result, we have been approached by Cheshire East Council to look to support another school, Lower Park, in the interim whilst they are appointing their new Headteacher, following the retirement of their long standing Headteacher on 1^st April 2021. Finding the very best person for this role is always hugely important and we wish them great success on their recruitment.

Lower Park are hoping to appoint a new Headteacher for September 2021 and therefore from 2^nd April, I will act in an Executive Headteacher capacity and support and lead two schools. This is a very exciting opportunity in terms of working with an Outstanding school, their staff and governing body and one that will bring a depth of experience for us all at Marton too.

In practical terms it will mean I will be Headteacher of both schools and be on both school sites, although as we are all able to work remotely this should have little impact on the day to day running of each school. I will still be accessible for both schools throughout the day, still be contactable throughout the day and being close to each other, able to be present and visible at both schools.

I am fortunate that I will be supported by strong Senior Leadership Teams at both schools and at Marton, Mrs Field as Deputy will be able to deputise for me if needed. This will not be at the detriment of her Year 2 class but as a strength for her role at school and in line with her current management time. Mrs Field has an email account: deputy@marton.cheshire.sch.uk which she will have access to if any parent wishes to contact her too.

As a result of Covid, all staff meetings and training are conducted via Online and this will continue as it has been.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to share our good practice and experiences with Lower Park School and hope this is the start of a very supportive working relationship that benefits both school communities.
