Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
The weather this week has brought about many changes and discussions not to mention impacting on playtimes and lunchtimes (the best part of Children’s days at school!) and we would remind you that children do still need to bring coats into school.
We are adhering to Covid guidelines and following good hygiene practices although expect to receive updated DFE School Guidance in the coming weeks. We would however urge you to continue to wear masks when entering our school site and to remind children to enter into classrooms as they arrive from 8.45am.
Year 5 and 6 had Day 2 of their Well Being activity with Kerry this week all about understanding each other’s preferences and they thoroughly enjoyed this. I am sure they have all been telling you at home about this and practicing using their juggling balls! I have had the most wonderful feedback from Kerry commenting on how incredible your children are (we all felt so proud and agreed with her!).
I am delighted to report that Mrs. Field is recovering well and we are enjoying her daily zoom sessions and meetings. Jess from Mad House has been poorly this week and so we are sending her all our love and good wishes this week too!
Next week Eaton Bank begin their induction visits to meet Year 6 and we look forward to supporting pupils transition as they prepare for High School. We have also begun to prepare for Reception 2021 children coming to visit school and are delighted by our pupil numbers this year – a testament to Mrs. Owen and Mr. Shaw!
We would like to say a very special Thank You to Mr & Mrs Megarrell for their very generous donation of beautiful bedding flowers to our Reception Class; how kind!
Following a successful recruitment process, we held interviews today for our new Site Maintenance Officer as Mr. Moss retires at the end of the summer. I am delighted to inform you that Mr. Sproson will start work in July. This will ensure we have a good knowledge transfer and handover is seamless. Mr. Sproson has extensive school experience and is currently employed at Eaton Bank. I know you will all make him very welcome.
Wishing you all a super weekend and warmer weather, Nevin
