Our special friend..
Dear all at Marton Primary.
What a lovely surprise it was to receive a donation of £133,55 towards my latest project in Uganda. It is just what I needed to help finish a block of three classrooms and a block of ten latrines, (toilets).
When I was in Uganda at the beginning of last year, returning to the UK just before the first lockdown, I was based at a village school to give out the many mosquito nets you and other friends donated. I noticed what a terrible condition both the classrooms and the latrines were in and decided I wanted to help them replace both. The children will have a big surprise when they return to school after the country’s latest lockdown! They still need desks and blackboards for each of the classrooms so some of your donation will help with those too.
I look forward to seeing you all in September when I can show you some photos of the ‘new’ Good Luck Primary School and you can tell me how you raised your donation for the children in Uganda. I also have some friendship hands to deliver to you as Covid didn’t allow me to bring them to you last year.
Enjoy your summer holiday, and keep safe!
Gerry or Madam Gerry as I am called in Uganda
