Head's Up!24 September 2021 (by J Field (Year2)) |
What a wonderful day it has been at school. Everyone looks fantastic in PJ's and so cosy! Thank you all for your delicious donations of cakes and for supporting Macmillan's coffee morning. We have raised £273.88 today!
It's been a very exciting week as you will all know from our recent messages on school jotter but something I would like to draw your attention to this week is Parking and the concerns we have at school.
We ALL know that parking is limited at school and in fact every school as predominantly years ago, children and families were able to walk to local schools although at Marton that is currently not really viable.
When the school was built 50 years ago, Cheshire Authority supported families in the seven villages by offering transport, something that remains today and is quite unique for primary schools. Eligibility for school transport is something that families need to seek via Cheshire East as school is not responsible for school transport although as a GOODWILL gesture, staff do put children on and off the bus. There maybe odd occasions when staff are not visible in the morning because they are called to deal with an incident and at times like this we would seek your support in helping us. At the end of the day, staff ALWAYS put children on buses and check seatbelts.
Whilst roof repair and removal work is being undertaken we have lost some staff car parking spaces and we are therefore having to 'block' car users in and use bus spaces as they are large enough to accommodate this. Parents parking inside the school have disabled badges or are Nursery parents who come early and arrive late.
We have invited our PCSO's this week to support parking on School Lane and they have issued cautionary warnings as there are many parents parking inconsiderately. Please DO take care as young children are walking into school with parents.
Whilst staggered times were in operation last term, schools are now advised to return to normal and therefore we would urge parents to park with caution, car share if possible, park at The Davenport and walk into school or adopt a one way route and travel along Oak Lane back onto the A34. These are by no means actions but solutions in which to aid parking. Our priority is and always will be keeping children safe and we hope you continue to support us in this matter.
With best wishes Nevin Deakin
