SCHOOL CLOSURES/POOR WEATHER17 November 2021 (by headmarton) |
INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES posted 17.11.21
Closing school during poor weather is not something we do very often but should we have to do this, this decision is always supported by our buses being unable to travel safely along School Lane and normally follows a discussion that takes place with school transport and staff/governors about 6 am.
The other reasons school may have to close in Winter is because of heating or toilet problems, although this has not happened many times during the past number of years. Remaining open is a priority at school and we will always keep you informed.
In the event of a school closure; a message with be added to the school jotter app and website immediately, followed by a message to local radio stations (SILK/SIGNAL FM). Our arrangements during previous cold spells have worked very well and everyone is alerted quickly and accurately about the poor weather. Please do not call school.
As we continue to use our school app and text/email messaging service to parents, please ensure the school office has updated mobile numbers and email addresses.
If you haven’t yet downloaded School Jotter, search the App Store for this (powered by webanywhere) and then search for Marton. All our news is updated via this method.
Many thanks, Nevin Deakin
