Dive In Education - teaching about racism7 December 2021 (by S Copestick (Year1)) |
As you may already be aware from recent activity, we have been working closely with Dive In Education to enhance our diversity and inclusivity program within the school, and today the Congleton Chronicle came to document and celebrate this.
As ever, it is important to us that the school environment is inclusive and is reflective of our pupils and the wider community so as part of our ongoing commitment to inclusivity, and using the books and materials supplied by Dive In, we will begin to teach about racism in the new year. This is in addition to teaching our current Relationships Programme. The teaching will be delivered in a safe way and in a safe space.
This is an important topic for our children and we reassure you that we have appropriate support structures in place to identify and mitigate any risk of harm.
The children may wish to continue these discussions at home and we encourage parents to download and read the attached guidance on how to approach such dialogue.
If you have any concerns about this, please contact School at the earliest convenience via admin@marton.cheshire.sch.uk
