Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
We are hoping that from Monday we can return to some normality and conduct assemblies and Worship together as Covid rates have reduced. We do still want to be mindful and therefore any meetings conducted will still take place virtually until we feel it is safe to hold them face to face. We will however conduct the next Parent Surgery in school on Friday 4th March at 9.10am.
We all loved celebrating Chinese New Year on Tuesday and everyone enjoyed the Chinese Dance workshops with a tasty Chinese lunch from Rachel. Rachel had planned a great menu and presented everyone with fortune cookies that she had bought herself, so kind and thoughtful. My fortune said: ‘A good example is the best sermon’ and I’ve put this on display in my office!
Next week is Children’s Mental Health Week and each class will have opportunities to take part in well-being activities. We will also be supporting Safer Internet Day on Tuesday and Mrs Sparey has directed us to some great resources to use with children. I hope you enjoyed reading this term’s newsletter she sent out this week. Mrs Woodmass is a school champion and advocate in supporting Children’s emotional support and well-being and she will be working with every class next week using some beautiful resources to support our young people.
Year 4 will go on their residential next week and we are hoping they will have a fantastic time (and good weather). Get lots of sleep over the weekend Year 4, you too Mr Marks and Miss Bedford!
I received THE best email last week from year 1 children (who’s computing skills are amazing) and was so impressed. I replied to their email and invited them to join me for hot chocolate this week. We have all just had hot chocolate and biscuits and feel ready for the weekend!
