Marton & District C E Aided Primary School

A brand new line up of players, including Harry (who only came to netball for the first time on March 15th) and Isla who were both making their competitive debuts, played really well in the latest round of league matches 

The first match against Smallwood was very even and Marton managed some lovely movement and passing. Despite 3 lovely goals scored by Harriet we just couldn’t close the match out and it ended as a 3-5 loss.

Hoping to build on our first match performance we changed courts to play St Mary’s.  They were much more experienced than us and with a super shooter and a couple of much taller players, we just couldn’t keep hold of the ball enough and St Mary’s ran out 8-1 winners.

Whilst the results didn’t go our way it was lovely to see everyone trying their absolute best and having fun in the sunshine. With so few training sessions our players have already improved and I’m really proud of them.

Thanks parents for making your children available, transporting and supporting. I hope they have told you all about it?

We have the final round if matches next Tuesday so fingers crossed for some more good performances.
