Dear Children and Families

Next week you will sit your Year 6 SATS tests like all year 6 pupils in Britain and I wanted to write a few thoughts for you all…

SATS don’t tell us how brilliant you are, how kind you are, how funny you are and what a wonderful part of our School Family you are! They are just a snapshot in time and are a test of ALL your learning at primary school in 4 days! It’s therefore your chance to remember and celebrate all the wonderful things you have learnt; but they’re just a snapshot!

This weekend we want you to rest and relax with your families and friends, enjoy the sunshine and being outside, ride a bike, read a book…do all the things that make you happy and feel well. Make sure you sleep well and come into school each morning; hungry for a delicious breakfast and ready to do your very best.

We are proud that you all try and do your best every day and we are proud that you represent our wonderful school so well.

For most of you, I can remember your first day starting school and how brave you all looked in uniforms so big and new, with shoes that seemed incredibly shiny! You walked with confidence up the steps into the reception class and so began our journey with you – learning and growing. Now you are nearly ready to continue that journey to High School and will soon climb greater steps, we’ll be with you all the way wishing you well and watching you flourish.
