Weekly message from Mrs Deakin
Many thanks for attending Meet the Teacher evening on Monday, as always it is a pleasure to see you all.
Thank you so much for your beautiful comments regarding our Community Pantry, we all feel so lucky to have your support and hope this demonstrates how much we believe in Family values at school.
I am delighted with the launch of our after school clubs and thank staff, governors and parents in advance for organising these as we know how much our children benefit from these. All clubs will begin from next week and please do remind children of after school arrangements if there is a change.
F & F meeting takes place on Tuesday from 3.15pm and will be in the staffroom, all welcome! This invitation extends to grandparents and family members too. Staff will take any children staying to the crèche from 3.30pm and I anticipate the meeting will finish by 4pm as we have our staff meeting afterwards.
As you will know, school is closed on Monday however Marton Parish Council will be using the school hall to live stream the Queen’s funeral at 11am. They have extended the invitation to school families if you would like to join them too. School will reopen as normal on Tuesday.
This week we have launched our Daily Read and I began my session this week. Every Wednesday I will hear some Year 3 children and it was a joy to help them! If you can spare 20 minutes each week to listen to our wonderful children read, please contact Mrs Field.
It’s hard to believe but admission for September 2023 has now opened and parents need to apply by 15th January 2023 in order to confirm their preferences for Reception class. If you know of friends or family members who are interested in joining our school family and meeting the incredible Mrs Owen, do please tell them to visit us. We have an Open Morning on Tuesday 20th January from 11am but we welcome visitors any time!
Year 6 parents will need to apply online for secondary school places by 31st October, please do visit your local High Schools and see them in operation if you can. Eaton bank are hosting an open evening on Thursday from 6pm too.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, Nevin
