Welcome back to School4 January 2023 (by headmarton) |
Message from Mrs Deakin
It was a great pleasure to welcome children back after the holidays and we all enjoyed our assembly this morning about New Year’s resolutions – who doesn’t love a quick anagram game too!
We have received back to school advice from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issued amid high levels of flu, COVID-19 and scarlet fever. UKHSA is reminding people that winter illnesses continue to circulate at high levels and urging everyone to following simple steps to help protect children, minimise the spread of illness in education and childcare settings and protect wider communities.
Current advice:
- If your child is unwell and has a fever, they should stay home from school until they feel better and the fever has resolved. Please inform school ASAP.
- Helping children to learn about the importance of good hand hygiene is also key, so practice regular hand washing at home with soap and warm water. Catching coughs and sneezes in tissues then binning them is another simple way to help stop illness from spreading.
- Remember that flu vaccination is still available for all eligible groups and is the best protection against the virus.
We are all now looking forward to our post-Christmas theatre trip next Friday 13th Jan, as we are leaving promptly (the performance starts at 10.30) children will need to be on time. Please do remember school starts at 8.50am.
Wishing you and your families a healthy and happy 2023, Nevin and all @ Team Marton
