Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
What a fantastic end to the week with a theatre trip to watch Alice in Wonderland today. This is always a wonderful post-Christmas treat to look forward to and we all enjoyed this. Many thanks to Marton Friends &Family for paying for the coaches to keep costs at a minimum.
Well done to the team who represented Marton @ Sports Hall athletics on Monday; you tried so hard and we are all proud of you.
We are excited to launch our timetable of after school clubs (huge thanks to all involved for giving up your time) and hope you have signed up quickly for these as numbers are limited due to the nature of clubs. Clubs (apart from Cookery) start week beginning Monday 23rd January and run for 8 weeks. Please do remind your children about after school clubs and arrangements.
At the end of each week, we all look forward to Fridays’ Celebration Assembly and are excited to be introducing something which we feel will be very special for children this year. As we were at the theatre today we’ll launch this next Friday and hope you will all like this new idea as much as we do!
We’ve said good luck and goodbye this week as Miss Jefferson leaves us to start a new job and we’ll really miss her! Zoe has been a wonderful addition to our family and we wish her lots of good luck in her new job. Thank you for being so supportive and for all your hard work.
We are thrilled to have joined Twitter (@TeamMarton) and would like to remind you to return the permission slip by Friday 20th January if you DO NOT want images of your child/children posting on Twitter.
We pride ourselves on being a family at school and I’m lucky enough to call my colleagues; friends …. so am delighted (and a tad emotional) to have the pleasure of informing you that Mrs Jones is pregnant and shared her exciting news with us all this week. Many tears of joy and excitement have been shared and I think Baby Jones will be a very lucky baby to be born to Emma and Lewis.
Have a great weekend, Nevin
