Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
I am delighted to inform you that we have launched our Birthday Club during Celebration Assembly this week.
The children and staff who have had birthdays since 1st Jan were presented with a gift wrapped book as part of celebrating their very special day. We are hoping that by the time children leave school, they will have the start of their own home libraries and a reminder of their school time @ Marton. We will present these books (all of which will be carefully chosen for your child) each Friday. We hope you will enjoy these at home as much as we have in giving these gifts. In the words of Dr Seuss:
‘The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go! Remember kids: reading gives you the power to be whoever you want!’
I know some of you have been discussing striking and what effect this would have at school, please rest assured that if school was to close we would inform you in advance. As a Headteacher, I will never strike and can assure you that school WILL remain open.
Keep warm and safe and enjoy any snow you may have this weekend. Please don’t forget on snow days children can bring in wellies/snow boots etc. into school as we love to take them outside! Who doesn’t love building a snowman!
