Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
Many thanks to Ethos Group, their parents and Miss Copestick on conducting Parent Surgery today. The children were absolutely wonderful and it was a pleasure to see and hear them discuss our Christian Values at school. Thank you to all parents and grandparents for supporting your children too.
You will have heard much discussion regarding the Teacher Strikes happening across the country and there has been much dialogue across the Local Authority regarding this too. As I confirmed with you last week, our school will be open and buses will operate as normal. Whilst we agree in principle about fairer pay we do not feel striking is the correct course of action and I hope you will all join me in recognising that we are lucky to have such dedicated and committed staff.
We have been busy planning for World Book Day this week; we are being super organised! WBD happens on Thursday 2nd March this year and this will be an Outdoor Day with the theme on Reading and Writing. Children will be invited to wear a costume that will be practical for being outside all day (and warm). Staff are focusing this year on the Where’s Wally books and we are all looking forward to dressing up too.
Birthday Club took place again today and all info will be on Twitter later.
I have been contacted by local residents to remind parents to be considerate about parking along School Lane, please take extra care. Please can we also respectfully ask parents to not park in the small staff car park unless this is to use the disabled space. Thank you.
