Recruiting a Part-time Clerk to the Rural Daneside Churches

    31 March 2023 (by headmarton)

Location: Marton Vicarage Office and/or Work from home.

Working hours: 6-12 hours a week. Flexible working hours available to suit the successful candidate. Occasional evenings may be necessary for meetings.

    Pay: Above national living wage.

    Immediate start is available.

The Rural Daneside Churches are 5 vibrant and community focused parishes: Marton, Siddington, Eaton, Hulme Walfield, and Swettenham.

To keep our parishes running smoothly, and to support the management of our beautiful church buildings, we are looking for a Clerk to support our parish volunteers.

This will be a varied role and therefore duties will evolve as needed. Experience and particular expertise are not necessary – an ability to work well with others, an interest in community life, and general organisational and IT skills are key. Example duties include:

    • Assisting the Church Wardens when arranging routine maintenance, and liaising with local tradespeople.
    • Assisting Parish volunteers when gathering, collating, and distributing documentation as necessary, eg Parish records, Church meetings, Church Yard records.
    • Assisting with the compilation of Parish magazines.
    • Liaising with the Diocese as required.

    Desirable skills:

    • Computer literate
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Organisational skills
    • The ability to prioritise
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Ability to work well within a small team

This is a responsible position requiring a practical approach which will be achieved by structured organisational skills and teamwork. The successful candidate should be dedicated and reliable, and will enjoy a rewarding involvement in community life.

Please apply to Revd Ian Arch, revd.arch@gmail.com, to arrange an informal discussion, or with a covering letter.
