Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
During Celebration assembly today, we presented each class with a ‘hand held’ cross as a gift from our class trips to Liverpool Cathedral this week. We really did have the most wonderful trips and our children’s behaviour and enthusiasm were a joy to witness. HUGE thanks to all helpers who attended and supported these visits.
We were intending to distribute the beautiful Coronation bookmarks that F & F have bought for every child but have decided to present these next Friday as it’s Coronation lunch day and we’ll all be looking ahead to celebrating this momentous occasion. You may recall that F & F launched a 5p challenge some months ago and I am delighted to report that Year 2 children raised the most money collecting £35.00 and will receive a little treat to say thank you. The overall total was £145.00, well done to all involved.
School will once again be Marton Polling station on Thursday and Year 5 children will work in the hall all day as their classroom is the dedicated polling station. Please note all KS2 children will have all playtimes on KS1/School field during this day.
Some schools in the local area were closed/partially closed for yesterday’s Strike day and anticipate closing again on Tuesday, as confirmed previously – we do not believe in striking and school will remain open for our families.
We have had such a beautiful week at school and everyone has been super busy; the Bank Holiday weekend is such a treat, let’s hope the weather improves for us all now,
