Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
We have had a special picnic lunch today as an end of half term treat. Rachel kindly made ‘lunch to go’ today and children sat together and enjoyed being on the field. It really has been wonderful to enjoy beautiful Marton in the sunshine this week!
Our Reception children had the best day EVER on Monday for their Outdoor Day. Staff had been in over the weekend to plan and erect the giant tent and to see the children so animated and engaged (staff too) was just a treat! I went to visit them on the field and felt so proud of everyone! Children were interacting with each other beautifully and they were living our school values.
I hope you have made a note of all summer diary events as the end of term is always incredibly busy. I am also looking forward to confirming the staffing for September after half term as staff will prepare for our annual ‘Move up Mornings’. We have however recruited Mrs Martin to work in the afternoons in Year 6 to enable Mrs Wilson to continue with her SENCO role after half term. Mrs Jones will also be starting her Maternity leave at the end of June and we are all ‘Baby excited’ at school. If you would like to contribute to gifts for Baby Jones, donations can be left at the school office.
You will have seen that School Lane will be closed next week but this is an ideal time as it is Half Term. Should there be any concerns for returning on 5th June, we will let you know.
Please can I remind you that we would advise children wear school shoes to school as many children have started wearing bulky trainers or boots. It is lovely to see children in summer dresses and school shorts too, thank you for supporting your children.
If you know anyone interested in joining school as a mid-day assistant, we’d love to hear from them! Please ask them to contact (wonderful) Mrs Laird for details.
Wishing you all a wonderful half term holiday and a chance to enjoy some super weather,
See you all on 5th June!
Nevin
