Marton & District C E Aided Primary School

We have just been informed that School Lane is closed following a burst main water main and United Utilities are urgently repairing the road. This means there is NO access to School Lane from the A34.

We can appreciate this will be a huge concern at the end of the day and therefore recommending an unofficial one way system for parents to travel to school from Gawsworth (along Marton Lane, which then becomes School Lane) and travel out onto Oak Lane.

Whilst I know these roads will be unfamiliar to many parents and are not easy to navigate, you are welcome to collect children any time after 1.15pm in order to ease congestion. Children will be marked for their afternoon attendance but we would like to support you in offering this. School will of course remain open till the end of the day and if you have Mad House or ASM arrangements they will still remain the same if this is suitable for you.

I have managed to persuade United Utilities to open the road for the school bus but this will be the only exception.

As always children's and parents safety remains our priority and we hope you all travel safely to school.

If you are collecting children early, please come via the main office. Please do not call school unless there is an emergency.
