Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
We have absolutely loved National School Sports Week and thank you all for your pictures and videos. We started the week with an ASM enrichment afternoon on Monday and ended with brilliant performances at Sports Day. In between some of our children represented school @ EBA for a Rounder’s tournament (which we won!) and KS2 children have been busy preparing for Town Sports, we’ve all been taking part in the Daily Mile too. It is always such a pleasure to enjoy Marton in the summer term and we all love being outside!
Last night I had the pleasure of camping out with Year 2 and we all had such fun. Wonderful ‘Ranger Rob’ (Mr Marks) cooked our tea on the barbeque and we had S ’mores for supper. We even celebrated a special 7th birthday with cake! Huge thanks to Mr Marks, Miss Rolfe and Mr Stewart for joining us all night (and staying awake) and Mrs Horsham and Mrs Woodmass for staying late.
Next week our Year 6 children will be on their residential until Wednesday and then they have their transition days at EBA on Thursday and Friday, we all wish them great success and fun next week!
On Thursday and Friday we have our 'Move Up Mornings' to look forward to. Please can children go to their normal classrooms and staff will take them straight into my assembly whereby their new class teachers will take them to their new classrooms. All home time arrangements remain as normal as children will return to their current classrooms after lunch.
It will be Mrs Jones’ last day on Friday and we will be wishing her all the best and presenting her with baby gifts. We’ll also announce our new Head Boy and Head Girl during Friday’s assembly too. All very exciting!
Best wishes, Nevin
