Head's Up!30 June 2023 (by headmarton) |
Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
We have loved our Move Up Mornings this week and it has been a pleasure to see children so excited to meet their new class teacher and be in a new classroom. HUGE thanks to the children and staff for their enthusiasm and excitement! During today’s assembly we announced our new Head Boy and Girl and I am delighted to confirm they are Ilia and Jess. I know they will be incredible and great ambassadors for school.
Much preparation is happening now for Key Stage 2 Town Sports which takes place at Congleton High School next Wednesday. This is an annual event that every member of staff gets VERY excited about and I always feel so proud that not only do they support all children but it’s an example of what a family we really are at school. I drive home every year in tears feeling overwhelmed and hoarse (Go Team Marton!) Please do come and join us next week!
You will have heard that there are more Strike Days planned for next week but again this will not affect anyone at Marton as all staff will be in school.
I’ve a request from Rach in the kitchen if anyone is getting rid of a washing machine as her school one has given up and she would like to replace this. If you can help, please see Rach, thank you in advance.
Year 6 did an incredible job selling refreshments last week at Sports Day and we will once again have an afternoon Tuck Shop (Monday 17th – Thursday 20th) if children want to bring any pocket money into school. The ice cream man will also be visiting school on Monday 17th July @ 1.30 pm and if children would like to buy an ice cream/lolly ice they will need £1.00.
Today was Mrs Jones’ last day as she begins her maternity leave. We had a beautiful baby shower for Emma and presented her with gifts and cards in assembly. Sending much love to Emma and Lewis as they wait for their little one to arrive.
With best wishes for a super weekend, Nevin
