    Heads Up!

    19 July 2024 (by J Field (Year2))

Last Head's Up of 23/24 School Year

Can you all believe we have come to the end of another academic year? I am sure the older I become, the quicker the years pass. It seems only yesterday that we were welcoming everyone back after the last summer holidays and now we (await warmer weather) are at the end of another very successful and productive school year!

Much has happened this year to share and celebrate; in particular our SIAMS Church School Inspection which recognised the values and vision that drive us daily - to sow, to nurture and to grow. This vision underpins all our decisions and applies to all the members of our school family; pupils, parents, staff and governors. Your trust and support as parents and carers is therefore fundamental and one we never lose sight of. To witness real emotion during our Celebration Assemblies, Awards Assembly and the Leaver's Assembly demonstrate the family we are and how much love we have for each other. We are your children's biggest champions and share all their successes with you.

We've ended the school year with fantastic new playground equipment that F&F have purchased. What a wonderful achievement that children will love to play on! Thank you ALL for contributing to this.

Today we say goodbye to the Class of 2024 and Miss Clarke and wish them continued success at their new schools. We look forward to hearing all about their new adventures too.

We return in September with our focus on being more ambitious for Reading and Writing and want to instil a real love of writing with your children. You can help us by encouraging them to write as much as they can. Who doesn't love reading children's stories and hearing their creative ideas? During the holidays, do encourage your child to read too. Reading is such fun and one that really supports your children's vocabulary.

The DFE are encouraging better attendance from September and have increased the price of fining parents from £60 to £80. Whilst attendance at school is good we'd love this to be better. Help us help your children reach their full potential every day at school by promoting good attendance.

Sending lots of love and luck to Ms Field and Steve for their wedding in August, From September, Ms Field will return to school as Mrs Wood.

Wishing everyone a wonderful summer and rest. Make lots of memories and we'll look forward to hearing all about these when children return on Tuesday 3rd September.

    Thank you for trusting us,

Nevin Deakin and all @ Team Marton
