Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
What a week of fun!
On Tuesday we loved celebrating Shrove Tuesday with our annual Pancake Day assembly which was just flippin’ fabulous! Lots of children took on the pancake challenge to see how many flips they could do and there was great excitement! Afterwards, Rachel had prepared pancakes for snack with a separate topping station which was just delicious! All staff helped out on Tuesday and the atmosphere in the school hall was just wonderful! Thank you to everyone!
Rev Edwards and Simon Wain came on Wednesday to give everyone their Ashes for Ash Wednesday, they talked about Lent and a time for reflection and we all enjoyed this Worship very much.
We’ve been so proud of our school football teams this week; massive well done and shout out to our Year 5/6 team on Wednesday and Year 3/4 team on Thursday.
World Book Day yesterday though was just absolutely amazing!! It was wonderful to see so many fantastic costumes and everyone involved in having so much fun and sharing books. Thank you to all families for engaging in this and for creating pretty spectacular costumes! In case you didn’t know the whole staff team surprised the children as we were dressed as different characters from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Next Friday children can wear their own clothes for ‘payment’ of an Easter Egg. This is for F&F’s Easter Bingo which will take place on Friday 28th March.
There really is no place like home/Marton.
Have a great weekend, Nevin Deakin
