Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
We have LOVED Science Week at school this week.
Our children have learnt so much information and been scientists all week solving puzzles and engaging in experiments. Many thanks to Mr Marks for organising a great weekly timetable and to all our parents/friends who gave up their time to work with children particularly Amy Rudyard and Manchester University Cancer Research staff.
Thank you for all your kind Easter egg donations today for F & F’s Easter bingo. We loved seeing children in their own clothes too!
Well done to all the children who took part in F&F’s Reading Bingo challenge. We were all so impressed that children took part and delighted to hear that children enjoyed this great task. Children who took part (and made a donation) have all received a little goody bag from F&F with children who scored a Full House receiving a special gift. We are so lucky to have such incredible support from F&F.
Our wonderful Year 1 class led a beautiful Spring Worship for their families on Wednesday and performed the most adorable Spring song; we all felt SO proud of them!
Academy Photographers will be at school on Wednesday 19th for sibling and individual photos; please can children come dressed in full uniform of this day. Some parents have asked me for a reminder about school dresses; we wear blue gingham school dresses at Marton.
We will be supporting Comic Relief day next Friday 21st March and School Council would like us all to dress in red. We can buy red noses for £2.50 at break time on a first come, first serve basis.
Don’t forget Parents Evening takes place 1.30 - 5pm on 31st March and 2nd April, children are welcome to leave early on these days after parents have had their meetings too. All parents meetings will take place in the school hall on these dates with Mad House located in Year 2 classroom.
Please note: All staff run school clubs will finish week beginning 17th March
We will be holding our next Parent Surgery on Tuesday 25th March @ 5pm – all welcome.
Special message from Mr Marks: It was a pleasure to take the Year3 and Year 4 girls football team to a tournament on Tuesday. The girls showed great determination and some fantastic goal keeping kept the girls in a couple of games. The girls came home with beaming smiles and gorgeous medals, well done girls.
We have said a very sad goodbye today to Nick from ASM as this was his last day @ Marton. Nick has been such a part of our team and we have all loved working with him. We wish him lots of success for his new career change and for his forthcoming wedding. We presented him with special gifts today and will miss him lots!
Have a great weekend, Nevin Deakin
