Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
As we move into the final few weeks of the school year, the excitement around school is certainly building! This week has been packed with energy, creativity, and adventure—from an unforgettable Year 6 residential trip to Town Sports on Wednesday night!
Our Year 6 pupils returned from their residential trip this week full of stories, smiles, and (a little bit of) tiredness! They spent a fantastic few days taking part in outdoor adventures, team-building activities, and making memories that will last a lifetime. From canoeing and fencing to zip lining, the children showed exceptional teamwork, resilience, and enthusiasm. A huge thank you to Mrs Wilson and Mrs Woodmass who supported the trip and made it such a special experience for our leavers. We’re incredibly proud of how the children represented Marton—they were a credit to the school!
On Wednesday night, our KS2 pupils took part in the annual Town Sports event, showcasing incredible determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the evening. Everyone gave their best and represented the school with pride.
We’re thrilled to share that our girls' team won the Small Schools Award—a fantastic achievement reflecting their hard work and dedication. Even more exciting, we were named overall winners of the Small Schools Award, a true testament to the collective effort of all our athletes.
A huge well done to all the children who took part, and thank you to the staff and families who came along to support. What a brilliant night for our school!
Best wishes
Nevin Deakin
