Cheshire East Young Musician of the Year 202620 November 2025 (by headmarton) |
A message from Mr Myers
Do you play a musical instrument? Do you dream of singing on stage? Are you a merry Marton music maker? Then, why not enter the Cheshire East Young Musician of the Year competition for 2026?
This event has been organised by Love Music Trust, who teach ukulele and peripatetic instrumental lessons throughout our school. There are two separate categories that would suit our children, best instrumentalist and best singer, with prizes available for best in Key Stage One and best in Key Stage Two.
The event will take place on the morning of Sunday 8th March at Sandbach School (the secondary school - Crewe Rd, Sandbach CW11 4NS) . The cost per entry per child is £7.00.
You can choose whatever piece you choose to sing or play, with the only rules being that you can only sing or play 1 piece only and that piece of music should not last longer than 5 minutes.
And the best news - first, second and third placed winners will be offered a cash bursary to contribute towards your one-to-one music lessons!
Should you wish to use a piano accompanist, you will need to select this on the sign-up form (link provided below) and piano parts must be scanned and submitted by 9am on Monday 16th February 2026 to admin@lovemusictrust.com, with your name clearly labelled. If the accompaniment parts are not sent by 16/02/2026, then unfortunately Love Music Trust, the organisers, will not be able to provide a pianist.
The deadline for signing up to the competition is Friday 13th February 2026, however there is a maximum allocation of 20 entries in Key Stage One and Key Stage Two, so it is best to enter as soon as you can to avoid disappointment! Once the limit of 20 entrants has been reached, anyone wishing to enter will be placed on a waiting list and contact by Love Music Trust should a place become available.
