Good Morning and Happy New Year

We hope you all had a super Christmas break and children are now enjoying the snow.

We are looking forward to welcoming Children back from Wednesday but wanted to issue a reminder about bad weather procedures if needed.

We will only ever close school if absolutely necessary and often this is because of buses unable to travel to us. School Lane is never gritted and can be very unsafe.

We have an effective communication system in place to keep everyone informed as early as possible and this is:

    •      A decision will be made in consultation with the bus companies, usually by 6:00 a.m.
    •      A notification will be posted as early as possible on School Jotter and on our school website, informing parents directly if the school is closed.

Children will move to Remote Learning and Class Teachers will issue messages via Seesaw or School Jotter.

    •      We will also inform local radio stations (Silk FM and Signal FM) so that the closure can be included in their school bulletins.
    •      Local primary and high schools will also be notified.

We kindly ask parents not to ring school on these mornings, as staff may not be present and we are unable to answer all calls.

If school is open but the weather worsens during the school day, we will inform parents if the school is likely to be closed the following day and may advise an early pick-up if appropriate.

Updates regarding reopening will also be posted on School Jotter.

Should you need to contact M.A.D. House (before and after school club), please call 07538 227999.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    With best wishes,
Nevin Deakin
