World Book Day - Message from Miss Trunchbull AKA Mrs Deakin5 March 2026 (by J Field (Year2)) |
Today as we celebrate World Book Day, Mrs Deakin shared this reading with the whole school whilst dressed as Miss Trunchbull....
Children! I am not a teacher… I am a headmistress!
And a headmistress likes order. She likes silence. She likes straight lines! She likes cake. And coffee. And loves Marton school!!!
But today… I see witches, wizards, superheroes, talking animals, and many more exciting wonderful characters from stories!
Which can only mean one thing… it is World Book Day.
Books! Hmph! They fill your heads with ideas. Adventures! Curiosity! Confidence! Awe and wonder. They make tiny children feel brave… and brave children feel powerful.
And even a headmistress must admit… that is not such a terrible thing.
So today, you may read loudly! Read proudly! Read wildly but most of all ….read!
