Congleton Singing Project12 March 2026 (by Andrew Myers (AMyers)) |
Tomorrow (Friday 13th March 2026) is the day the children will perform at Congleton Town Hall in the culmination of the Congleton Singing Project 2026. The children will sing a range of songs, across a number of genres, backed by two orchestras and the community choir. Some of these songs are complex and difficult to sing, but the children have made wonderful progress with these and we have had very positive feedback from conductor Tom Newall about the maturity, confidence and ability of the children.
Lyrics have been sent home previously for the children to learn and tickets were sent home midweek. Please bring these tickets with you tomorrow. The concert will begin at 1:30pm and seating will be on a first come first serve basis, so it is recommended that you arrive early to secure the best possible position.
The concert will last approximately an hour with no interval and is projected to finish around 2:30pm. You have all indicated that the children will return home with you. We will give hand out the children to their adults in the same way which we would do at the end of the school day. With all three schools and the youth orchestra leaving at once, please bear with us during this busy time.
If your child has packed lunches, they will take these to the town hall and if your child usually has school dinners on a Friday, we have organised for packed lunches to be made and we will take these to the hall hall for the children.
Please pack coats for the children, but the children need not bring in school bags tomorrow. Homework will go home today instead of Friday.
This should prove to be a wonderful experience for the children and we are very excited to perform alongside so many other schools, orchestras and choirs to a packed audience.
Thank you,
Andrew Myers
