Dear Parents and Carers,

We are writing to inform you of an upcoming revision to our school uniform policy.

This change is designed to better support our children and families, while also aligning with guidance from the Department for Education (DfE). The updated uniform policy will become compulsory from September 2027 for current students, and we are sharing this information now to ensure families have plenty of notice to plan ahead.

From September 2027, we will be introducing a new style of school top. This will consist of either a 1/4 zip performance top or a full zip performance top, replacing the current school jumpers, cardigans and fleeces.

This change reflects the DfE guidance that schools should limit branded (logo) uniform items to three, in order to help reduce costs for families. Under our revised policy, the three branded items will be:

• School 1/4 zip performance top or full zip performance top
• Coloured PE top (which can be personalised)
• School tie (provided as a gift from Friends & Family) for KS2 children

As a reminder:

• KS2 children will be required to wear white shirts with their school tie
• KS1 children will continue to wear white polo shirts

The new performance tops are available to purchase from DP Sportswear in Congleton immediately, however they will not become compulsory until September 2027. We hope you will be pleased to learn that the new performance tops will cost slightly less than the current options, reflecting the increasing need for affordability.

Please note that our new Reception children starting this September will begin wearing the new zip performance tops.

Friends & Family (F&F) will also continue to support our community by offering both branded and unbranded pre-loved uniform, providing an additional affordable option for families.
