As all the children have started back at school. there has been a increase in cases of impetigo across England. Impetigo is a contagious skin infection.

We want to let you that one case of impetigo has been reported in school. 

If your child shows symptoms, please consult a healthcare professional. Treatment usually involves prescribed antibiotic ointment or oral antibiotics. More details can be found on the NHS website. 

Your child can return to school 48 hours after starting antibiotic treatment and once sores have started to heal and are no longer weeping.

Please encourage good hygiene including regular washing of hands.
