A message for Year 3 Families

    23 October 2026 (by headmarton)

    Dear Year 3 Families

As we approach the half-term break, I wanted to share a little update with you about Year 3 and our staffing arrangements.

Unfortunately, Miss Copestick remains absent from school due to illness and we hope she is feeling a little better each day.

I am delighted to share some lovely news with you! Mr Swinburne will be returning to Marton after the half-term break and will remain with us whilst Miss Copestick is absent. This is wonderful news for the children and will provide some much-valued consistency and familiarity.

Mr Swinburne has told us how absolutely thrilled he is to be working at Marton, and I think it's safe to say that the children are equally delighted to have him! He has already made such a positive impression and embraced everything about Marton life with enthusiasm and a smile. After all, it's not every day your teacher turns up dressed as a caveman, is it?!

We were also incredibly impressed by Year 3's wonderful Harvest performance this week. The children were absolutely fantastic, and it was lovely to see their confidence and enthusiasm shining through. A huge well done to every single one of them, and of course to Mr Swinburne, who has thrown himself wholeheartedly into school life. We are very proud of them all!

We have a few members of our support staff currently absent, but I am pleased to share that I have secured additional staffing support for KS2 after the half-term holidays. This will help ensure that the children continue to receive the care, attention and support they need.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you for your kindness, patience, understanding and continued support. It really does mean a great deal to us, particularly when we are navigating unexpected challenges.

    Happy half term, Nevin Deakin
