Marton & District C E Aided Primary School

This afternoon we took our Y4/5 team to Sandbach High School to take part in a Round RobinTournament against teams from Quinta and Haslington. For 7 of our 9 players this was the very first time they've played a competitive match and they really rose to the challenge, winning 3 matches and losing one by a single goal. No mean feat when you consider that we were the youngest team taking part, the others were all Y5/6 , and we were also playing indoors with two matches running side by side so it was loud and busy. Every single player tried their hardest and some fabulous individual performances and above all a huge team effort, saw us secure some really comprehensive wins to achieve a thoroughly well deserved second place finish. Can't begin to say how proud we are of them all, as with the Y6 team, they are a credit to our school and their families and we can't wait to see them continue to improve. Thanks as always to those of you who transported and supported...it was nice to be inside and nice and dry for a change!
