Marton & District C E Aided Primary School

The cross country team got the year off to a fantastic start, picking up from where the team finished last year. The whole team ran exceptionally and the new Year 3 runners displayed great promise for the future. The girls were up first and were started on their way by Ann Packer, the former Olympic athlete. She was obviously an inspiration as Ellie Dixon led from start to finish, a strong 2nd from Olive Cooke and then backed up by superb running meant the team finished in a strong position. Then it was time for the boys to set off. They started at a great pace and the Marton team were in good form. Thomas Wood had a phenomenal run for his first time representing the school, finishing 3rd. He was also well supported by the rest of team and there were some superb sprint finishes. Well done to everyone who ran and particular those in Year 3, for whom the course was a long way for their first outing in Marton colours.
