Marton & District C E Aided Primary School

The girls football team put in another great performance today at Sandbach United. Knocked down to 6 players in a seven aside tournament due to illness, the girls travelled to Sandbach in high spirits. In the first game we battled it out for a 1-0 victory over Haslington and were riding high going in to the following matches. Unfortunately we suffered three narrow losses but heads never started to drop. In the final game the girls fought hard and dug in and scored a fantastic break-away goal to give us 3rd spot overall. I was really proud of the determination and resilience shown this afternoon and the team should be really proud of what they have achieved. Thanks also to the couple of girls from other schools who stepped in to help us out.
