Marton & District C E Aided Primary School

It was the turn of the Year 5 and 6 cross country team this week and they travelled to Derby Fields in Macclesfield. the team was chosen and it was made up entirely of Year 5 runners. The girls ran first and Mia came home in an exceptional 4th place. All the other girls ran very well and a number of them improving on their positions from previous events. The boys were second to run and Hayden has continued his success in Year 4 on into Year 5 and came a fantastic 2nd place. Again the rest of the boys team all ran superbly and made good ground through the final stages of the race. The team should be really proud of their achievements, as all the staff are, because these races are tough enough when competing against your own age. However these were run against predominantly Year 6 competition so the future looks very bright for the Marton cross country team. Well done to all and thanks to the support from the parents.
