Christmas Fayre!
It has been a tradition that the Marton School helped by Marton PTA put on a Christmas Fayre that the children, parents and friends of Marton enjoy.
The Christmas Fayre has traditionally been the biggest fund raising event of the year and is only made possible by help and support of parents/grandparents/carers working with the PTA. You have maybe noticed that all schools face a major shortage of funding due to government cutbacks. By default all parents are members of the PTA along with the staff. Whilst a few can deal with the committee element it falls upon all of us to run the events and help raise funds.
Whilst the PTA is still undergoing change and looking for new volunteers to help we are making a plea to ask for parent/grandparent/carer help towards the Christmas Fayre, without asking for any commitment going forward.
Any help that can be offered will be hugely appreciated and unfortunately if the support isn’t available it won’t be feasible to hold the event. Normally each year group hold a stall each and we would love to continue with this tradition.
If you are happy to get involved with planning, setting up, running a stall on the night, helping to pack down and collecting raffle prizes please do email us on jemmabaker@hotmail.co.uk. We really do need a lot more helpers for the Christmas Fayre to go ahead. We have some lovely fresh ideas and it would be a shame for the Children to miss out.
Please do let me know if you are happy to volunteer by Monday 16th October as the Christmas Fayre is fast approaching. I'm hoping this will put us in a better position to move forward with the exciting plans that we know the Children will enjoy.
Kindest regards,
Marton PTA
