Weekly news from Mrs Deakin
It was wonderful to see Year 5 & 6 take part in Fencing lessons on Wednesday and I was so impressed with the children’s maturity and enthusiasm. I hope you all enjoyed the pictures on the website/app. Many thanks to Mr Marks for organising such exciting events for us at school. Next week we are all looking forward to Young Voices and would like to thank Mrs Field and all staff for organising and planning such a fantastic opportunity for our pupils.
This week we have been incredibly lucky to welcome Chris Penn, Director of education for Chester Diocese and Jacky Forster, Director of education for Cheshire East to two separate visits to school. It was a wonderful opportunity to talk about Marton and what makes us unique. Next week we are looking forward to seeing our friend Geri and hearing all about our link school in Uganda. Watch this space to hear what Ethos group have planned for us to support our link school.
You will have heard that Congleton will be welcoming royal visitors to the Town Hall on Wednesday. Our Head Boy, Callum and Head Girl, Jess will be representing our school and we are all incredibly proud of them. If parents do want to go and welcome the royal visitors with their children, you are welcome to collect them from school at 11am and absences will be authorised. Please email the school office if you intend to collect your child on Wednesday. All of our partnership schools in Congleton are following the same protocol and will be supporting families with this opportunity.
Wishing you all a very happy weekend, Nevin
