Marton & District C E Aided Primary School

Dry eyes were few and far between at Congleton Town Hall tonight as the children of Year 5 took part in their re-enactment of the scene from the WW1 workshop from earlier in the year. They were fantastic. In front of the Mayor of Congleton and a large audience they formed part of a larger group of performers from a handful of Congleton schools and were a huge credit to Marton. They performed with confidence and behaved impeccably. The children and audience were then treated to a very poignant and moving performance from the professional actors in which original letters from soldiers serving in WW1 were read out. It was a great experience and I hope the children are able to take the memories on and learn more about the times of WW1.
